    This educational session provides some real-life type (names changed to protect the guilty) examples of how to deal with difficult people in the workplace.  Some common difficult workplace personalities will be discussed, for example hostile-agressives, complainers, silent and unresponsives, super-agreeables, negitivists, know-it-alls, indecisives, and snipers.  By the end of this session, attendees should be able to

            describe factors that motivate difficult behavior

            identify specific methods to cope with difficult behavior patterns

            develop a plan for more productive relationships with specific difficult people

            deal with difficult people who refuse to change there ways

    Angela Lee has worked in Human Resources since 1998, with industry experience in retail operations, staffing, construction and healthcare. Currently, she serves as the Director of Human Resources for Samaritan Bethany. She is a current member of the National SHRM Association, the Rochester Human Resource Association, and the Minnesota State Bar Association.

    Angela has a bachelors degree in Information Technology from National American University, and a JD from Ohio Northern University. She has been licensed to practice law in Minnesota since 2006. Angela completed her Master of Business Administration degree from Augsburg College in August 2012.

     

    David Johnson is the Director of Organizational Development at Olmsted Medical Center.  He has worked in in all disciplines of Human Resources for more than 15 years.  Dave is a Senior Professional in Human Resources, a member of the national SHRM association, Minnesota Healthcare Human Resources Association, and the Rochester Human Resources Association. 

    Dave holds a masters degree in Computer Education and Cognitive Systems from the University of North Texas and a bachelors degree in Occupational Education.

    Members for Presentation only: $7.00

    Non-Members including the lunch buffet: $20.00

    Non-Members for Presentation only: $10.00

    Special note on the RHRA Cancellation Policy: Cancellation of meeting registration(s) must be received by RHRA at least 48 business hours prior to the time of the event to avoid charges. Registrations not cancelled 48 hours in advance will incur full charges as a "No Show".
