Religious accommodation claims are on the rise, and Minnesota’s increasingly diverse population presents new challenges for employers who must balance legal compliance against business efficiency. This session will examine the current legal landscape and an employer’s duty to accommodate their employees’ religious beliefs and practices. The discussion will also cover what constitutes religious discrimination and how some policies, even if applied evenhandedly, can have a disparate impact on certain religious practices. This presentation will also explore real life hypothetical scenarios, and attendees will receive practical recommendations for their workplace.
